Thank you for logging on to Notes from the Field. This is a blog that I hope you will visit regularly. Its purpose is to assist you and your colleagues in the effective engagement of Advisory Boards, Advisory Councils and Women’s Auxiliaries, all in support of the tremendous work being done in your community with The Salvation Army.

Give us your ideas. Use www.mysaboard.org and blog as a forum for providing and seeking benchmarks of excellence and best practices in community relations. Together we will strive to strengthen your role on the Advisory Board wherever you live. Please spread the word and make sure that your fellow advisory volunteers know about this site. Encourage them to log on and use it, just as you have.

God bless, and thanks for your service.

Thanks Dick for listening to me extol the virtues of our COMMUNITY PARTNER PROGRAM-Establishing Caring Relationships with organizations in the Central Valley of California. So many good things are happening to our Clovis and Fresno Corps it must be blessed by God. Here are some recent examples:
Panera Bread Cafe opened here in Clovis a year ago, and before their opening we (TSA-Clovis) asked if we could have their left-over bread and pastries…we were awarded four days then. In May they changed out their dishes and asked if we could use them :) Oh, yes-because all of our kitchen dishes matched with chips or broken; Excess to ARC downtown Fresno. Last week we were awarded the fifth day…not a moment too soon for our needs have sky-rocked over 142% year over year (now over 2500/mo.)
COMMUNITY PARTNER (CP) International Paper came to our rescue big time as the Community Food Bank no longer supplies bags for distribution of food. They were one our first CP’s two years ago as God continues to bless us with their donations of urgently needed boxes for food.
Starbucks, Clovis (all 9 of ‘em) as COMMUNITY PARTNERS sponsors Starbucks coffee for important meetings and events such as our CP luncheon & Central Valley Veterans Parade and others.
City of Clovis City Council awards NATIONAL SALVATION ARMY WEEK each year, and the Senior Center is involved with us during Christmas Star Tree and yard sales. The list goes on and on but the important thing is to PARTNER with other organizations in your community for awareness and MUTUAL support.
    Blessings to all-
